We Fought The Big One

Get yourself to the Marx Cafe in Mount Pleasant DC.  Tonight is We Fought The Big One! 10PM

On the first Friday of every month, DJs/record obsessives Brandon Grover and Rick Taylor host the ultimate celebration/listening party of left-of-center independent pop brilliance and post-punk weirdness. Who said Washington DC is a buttoned-down town?

Girls Rock! DC - Instrument Drive

We wanted to thank all of our friends who came out last night to the GR!DC campsite last night.  It was a flurry of folks donating, loaning, and testing gear for the week long camp that jumps off next Monday.  GR!DC organizers are nearing the home stretch for their preparations before the campers arrive.  For more information on volunteering, activities, and donations go here.  Don't forget to come out to the Camper Showcase at the 930 Club next Saturday August 14th at 11:00AM.

Music, Community, & Fort Reno

We here at Etxe Records were in full attendance last night at Fort Reno.  Our friends the Cephalopods opened for The Evens.  For those of you not in attendance - Ian asked all of the musicians in the park to create bands and continue communal happenings such as last nights show.  We couldn't agree and echo this sentiment enough. Consider donating some money to Fort Reno to fuel their volunteer efforts for many more summers to come.  Thanks!
